Samantha Thompson is a former federal prosecutor with over a decade of experience in complex criminal litigation, specializing in narcotics and international organized crime. She served as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section, where she led high-profile prosecutions against transnational criminal organizations, including members of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Samantha’s career began as an Assistant District Attorney in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where she headed both the Narcotics and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Units. She also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, further honing her expertise in trial advocacy, witness preparation, strategic investigation and interagency collaboration.
Samantha has prepared hundreds of witnesses ranging from high-profile cooperating defendants to nervous first timers. Her unique experience brings a depth of legal acumen and a nuanced understanding of witness dynamics to Cogent Edge.
Samantha received her Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. She graduated magna cum laude from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At Duquesne University, Samantha double majored in Political Science and Sociology, minored in Psychology, and played for the women’s basketball team on a full athletic scholarship.
